Two great displays, without the fireworks!

We first headed up the M5 to EHI Live, held at the NEC in Birmingham. The Q Business Development Team soon got busy engaging with innovators in IT healthcare from all across the UK.

A highlight was NHS Director of Digital Technology, Beverley Bryant’s keynote speech which celebrated the success of Summary Care Record (SCR) and the recent launch of mobile access to SCR for Quicksilva’s customer, South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) – an industry first. The audience were quick to applaud this major milestone and what it means for front line paramedics.

No sooner had Quicksilva’s shiny new stand been dismantled, we headed South East to London’s Royal Victoria Dock for Patient First 2015. The largest gathering of patient safety professionals in the UK, organisers recorded over 3,000 delegates, all clinicians with a responsibility for the patient safety agenda in their organisations.

Day one saw visitors to the stand from multiple professions – from radiographers to pharmacists to oncologists, all keen to learn what access to the NHS Spine could do for them. Hot on the agenda was the implications of the 2015 Health and Social Care Act, with many clinicians eager to learn about how they could access the NHS number, to meet the new mandatory requirements.

On day two Quicksilva unleashed Business Development Manager, Bonnie, who presented a talk to a jam packed Supporters’ Theatre. She delivered a whistle-stop lowdown on the Spine services which impact on Patient Safety including developments to the Child Protection Information Sharing service and Summary Care Record. There followed many questions on the latter, particularly from Pharmacists, who were glad for a forum to discuss how much time they waste chasing down prescription records from GPs.

A few hours later and it was all over. Two exhibitions; four days of endless hard work and gallons of black Americano later, the Quicksilva Team reflected over a job well done… and headed out for a well-earned pint or two.
